La Manzanilla is a small fishing village on the Pacific coast of Mexico, one hour north of Manzanillo and three hours south of Puerto Vallarta in the state of Jalisco in an area called Costa Alegre, which means Happy Coast. La Manzanilla is a very safe place to live, even for single women. There is real estate for sale, lots for sale, open land for sale, affordable vacation rentals, hotels and camping.Camping is available on the beach next to the lagoon, which is a federally protected ecological zone. Take a guided tour into the lagoon and see the animals including, caimans (alligators), heron, ibises, egrets and kingfishers, a truly exciting nature experience. La Manzanilla is located on the Bay of Tenacatita which has some of the best fishing in Mexico including huachinango, tuna, dorado, jack, and sailfish. It also provides safe harbor for many sailboats and power yachts. Ocean and beach animals include porpoises, whales, frigates, pelicans, cormorants and more. The beaches of Mexico are beautiful, and the beach of La Manzanilla is no exception. Tenacatita Bay protects the local beaches from the open ocean.
