Re: stinging in the water?

Many of us have experienced the stings of what are called "Sea Lice" and are, according to the internet, the microscopic larvae of jellyfish.

The bites tend to affect women, particularly, getting caught in the seams of our bathing suits. They can be like a rash, or like nasty welts.

The answer is to wear a rash guard, or a long sleeved shirt made for the water, when swimming. This has helped me immeasurably. The shirts are easy to find. I got mine in Melaque at a beach shop on the street where Hawaii's is.

Also, people will get out of the water and shower and change right away. If there's a sting then vinegar or lime juice can help some. There's not really good antidote that I've found, but everyone is different.

If there's a pattern to the rash, then you probably did get into some jelly fish. The pattern would be like a tentacle wrapped around the body part. We've experienced jelly fish in every month we've been here.

Don't take this as gospel. Check out Sea Lice on the internet.

Good luck!

Vicki
