This morning, we were talking to Chef Linda Jimenez, through the bars on the kitchen window at Cafe Risa. I said: it looks like you're in prison, and she said, "but I'm happy!"

Linda is one of the La Manz originals: born here 42 years ago, lived all her life here. Her family all lives here too: she is one of 10 children. Her great sadness: her sister died a couple of years ago.

She has four children, two boys and two girls... The youngest is Israel (the welder) who is 21.

Linda is a lovely lady who wants everyone to know she is single and looking for a nice man.

Thanks mucho for posting this photo, David. I had been told that the Linda I knew well from 30 odd years ago was now working at Cafe Risa, but I wasn't sure until your post that it was true. She's changed a bit... Here's a couple of photos of her from spring of 1990 (I think), when she was working at the Cazador. In the one shot, she is seated with Rebecca outside Arturo's Farmacía, THE hangout of the day back then. Could you or someone else show or tell her of this posting and these photos? Or alternately, if someone could kindly find out if she has an email address, I'd send these to her directly.

Rockin' the big hair! I wonder is she remembers that t-shirt... LOL

Please and thank you on your offer to post the photos, David. I'm not on "the Facebook" myself. We can only hope that she'll love them! We're not always crazy about some of our earlier photos in life, but these should give her a chuckle. And if you wouldn't mind, please also msg. her with my email address - would be great to connect with Linda directamente - I wonder if she'll remember me...

Gracias en adelante - muy amable. Look forward to your next "Humans" posting.
