I'm arriving Wednesday with guitar and would like to find out about any other opportunities for jamming, as well. I also am not familiar with that tuning.

The "standard" tuning today is A440 (440khz) established in 1939 as a "universal" agreement. Prior to that time, classical musicians tuned to A-444, and most of what could be called "folk" musicians tuned to A-432. It's a BIG story. Google A-440, and you may be amazed.
