Temazcal in los hingenios; Saturday 7 and 8 February, with two sessions each day, one at 9 am and the other at 2 pm on both days, each session has prior ritual Temazcal, aromatherapy, chakra alignment and holistic food prehispanic, is counted to transport la manzanilla-los hingenios hingenios -la manzanilla, which leaves the square of la manzanilla to 8:30 am and 1:30 pm the recovery of costs is $ 400 pesos per person.
What is a Temazcal?
In itself, the Temazcal represents the earth, the goddess who gives us life and sustains us. When one enters the Temazcal, is said to be entering the womb of Mother Earth and why the Temazcal is shaped dome; in some cases it is literally built into the earth in the form of cave. Inside the Temazcal is dark.
Outside the Temazcal, in some traditions on the eastern side, the sacred fire is located; this represents the sun god, whose fertilizing and creative energy heated volcanic stones which will then heat the Temazcal.
In the center of the Temazcal is a depression where hot stones are placed; on these stones healing and aromatic plants are placed, or an infusion of these is poured on the stones. Plants are also symbolic for their individual properties, for example:
- The copal cleanses the spirit and retrieves the memory of our origin.
- The licorice attracts beauty and sweetness and tenderness revealed within the heart.
- Cedar to thank and bless all we have.
- Sage to choose only what we need.
From the moment water or herbal tea to stones is added, steam is created and the Temazcal already contains all the basic elements of the universe (earth, fire, air and water)

Just want to say how amazingly beneficial the Temazcal with Javier was for me. I know it affected me at all levels but I mostly noticed that a spine/movement issue has totally cleared. It was a wonderful experience from the magical location in the woods, to the herbs and sweat ritual to Ricardo's excellent food and drink afterwards. A wise treat.
