My sister in law and husband are arriving on the 14th. Is there a stand at the airport where they
pay for taxi or do they go directly out to the cabs? They are nervous travelers and I would like to give them this info. Failing that I may have make the trip in and back.

Airport is small. Taxi stand is obvious. They all speak English. Easy as pie. Just make sure to say "LA MANZANILLA" and say "Past Barra and Melaque." Not to be confused with Manzanillo.

As Alex said, they will have to pay at the taxi stand Which is inside the airport just before the exit doors to the outside. They only accept pesos there. So they need to come with pesos or an ATM card. There is an ATM machine in the airport, and hopefully it works! I can't remember but the cost is either 650 or 750 pesos. My friend in the US is getting an exchange rate of 14.05 in her town. The best I have received here is 13 pesos for the US dollar. They can also change money before coming over in a money exchange in their town Or from the airport they're leaving from.

If you wish to change money at your home town bank, you will need to give them some lead time so they can get the pesos to the bank.
