Refrendo Renewal Location

Where in Cihuatlan does one go to pay the refrendo (annual car registration renewal)? Is it the same place that one pays parking tickets and the like? Thanks.

I didn't know we could pay in Cihuatlan.

I renew my car registration in La Huerta where I got the plates. It's in the Centro just one street west of the place I pay my house tax (predial.) When coming into La Huerta on Highway 80 from the crucero by Melaque, turn right at the 1st or 2nd traffic signal. It will say "Centro". Then go until you reach their Jardin (plaza central) and loop to the left around it following the one-way streets. You can usually find street parking within a couple blocks of the Jardin. If not, there are a couple of pay lots just off the Jardin.

Here's a Google map of that part of La Huerta:

https://www.google.com/maps/place/La+Huerta,+Jalisco,+Mexico/@19.4832211,-104.6412273,18z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x8424ecdb99ce1ceb:0x6b561a124caa1620?hl=en

And here I've marked the car registration office in red, and the house tax office in blue:

I pay both these items in January for the best discount, and it usually takes about 2 to 2.5 hrs round trip time from La Manzanilla, depending on the lines.

We just drove to Cihuatlan and I asked a street vendor where to pay the Refrendo. He sent us to the first right turn after Electra, then right after a short block up the hill. Then back two blocks (one way) to a white official-looking building on the far right corner. The office for payment is down the hill one door. When I went in a little after noon today, there were two cashiers...and me. No one else. I was in and out of there in about 90 seconds. It is much more convenient than driving to La Huerta. The only thing that surprised me was how expensive renewal was this year. When we got home I looked at the receipt, and seven hundred pesos were for infracctiones. I guess I got nailed a few times by the new cameras around Guadalajara that photograph speeders like me.

Jon's car must be registered somewhere south of LM as LM cars must go to La Huerta, mine has a Malaque address, thus I go to Cihuatlan. I don't think a LM registered car can go that office, (so I have been told) but I would be interested to know if anyone living here in LM (with a LM address) has done it.

Ah so. Our car is registered in San Antonio Tlaycapan on Lake Chapala. I didn't know that that might matter for a statewide document. Everyone's computer has the whole database, I'm pretty sure. It would be nice to know if one with a La Manz address can go to Cihuatlan. If I don't read it here, I'll stop in and ask next time I'm there.

Hi: Rob(in) got his Refendo Renewal in Cihuatlan today. He said it took about a minute and he got all the papers today, so no waiting for them to arrive here.

I renewed my car papers in Cihuatlan this year and my car was legalized and licensed in La Huerta. Noone said anything about having to go back to La Huerta every year. Cihuatlan works really well and is much closer.

I just bought a car which is registered in Veracruz - I am waiting for the "baja" from Veracruz and then need to register the car here in Jalisco. Can I just go to Cihuatlan or is the planned trip to La Huerta still in the cards?

We took all of the paper work for the registration to the Cihuatlan office and was told that La Manzanilla
residents had to register in La Huerta. This was the initial registration not a renewal. I'm pleased to hear that we (La Manzanilla residents) can renew in Cihuatlan
