Our four-year-old Toshiba 40" LED TV stopped turning on a few days ago. If anyone would like to take it to try to fix it or to get it fixed, it is yours (it might just be something like a fuse). Otherwise, we need advice as to how to responsibly dispose of a large amount of plastic, LED screen and electronics. Tossing it away doesn't seem right, but what's the alternative? Minds more creative or informed than mine know. BTW, the replacement TV we bought today weighs in at under 16 pounds for the same 40" diagonal screen. The TV itself is 5" diagonal smaller that the older Toshiba with its much wider frame. The Toshiba weighs about 35 pounds more than its replacement. Technology just continues to innovate and advance toward smaller and lighter.
