Linda, because mine was not sealed properly at ZLO, just stapled into the plastic bag rather than (as I learned later) being sealed along two sides, I got nailed at Houston (and Vancouver--tell you about that later) and had to race from where they were searching my carry-on back to the original check-in so they could check my carry-on piece as I could not carry it on with this improperly sealed bag. Thus, is was escalators, running across enormous rooms, standing, again, in line-ups and hoping not to be charged $25 (not pesos) for the extra piece of luggage.
Then, in Victoria, having to make two trips back out to the airport because the (not) carry-on did not make it onto the same plane I was on.
If you don't like pains in the you-know, pack it in your check-in luggage.
