I vote that all us Gringos (if that doesn't include the Canadians) or whatever the NTB folks are tax ourselves annually to pay to keep the sewer system functioning as well as possible. It seems the minor issue, storm water runoff, can't be mitigated, but we can certainly keep the pump running.
It seems there is an entity, The Committee, that can handle funds and place them when and were necessary. Kudos to you guys for getting involved.
As a part of this, those of you who can, but have not connected to the sewer would do so, that would help. It would also help if we (NTBs) would pay our water bills. Maybe we could get a list of those who have not paid and (like we do on social media NTB) and publicly shame them. (:o)))
To pick a number, Ann and I will put in $2,000mx annually.
Everything is connected to everything...... there is no such thing as a free lunch...... Mother Nature knows best. That said....... the fecal coliform count in the bay is 0.. but let's do what we can do to keep it that way.
ps..... the more we pump up to the leach field, the more water (cleaned and filtered by all the sand) we will have in our aquifer. If Taminrando builds a big hotel, they will be pumping a LOT more water out of our aquifer.
