Here is what I have for 2015 so far. There was another big gap in my data during my trip north from late April to mid-June. I did get Hurricane Carlos' rains measured the day after I got back in mid-June, but the few small rains earlier in June and May I had to guesstimate based on your message board posts.
Records:
The big news so far in 2015 was the unprecedented rainstorm in mid-March. After 10 years without a drop of rain in March, this year brought 9.9" ! (Even more in other parts of town!) The only trigger I could find for this strange event was "Winter Storm #9." It looked like a fire hose streaming right at us from the Pacific.
Then we set a new low rainfall record for August (assuming we don't get several inches in the next 4 days.) We only got 1.24", breaking 2009's 3.57" .
We are having quite a drought this summer. June was about average, but July was only half the average, and August was 1/8th of the average! The YTD total rainfall is about normal for this date, but only because of February's and March's unusual contributions.
Tables and charts:
Hope we can catch up on the rain this summer, but without a lot of damage and flooding...
I'll try to post a final report after the end of the year.
