The Weather Channel reports this morning that Hurricane Patty is now rated as the strongest hurricane ever recorded in the Western Hemisphere with sustained 200 mph winds. The low measured at 880 millibars at 4:30 a.m., the lowest pressure of any previous hurricane.
The National Hurricane Center confirms the info above and classifies Patricia as a Category 5 hurricane. Its models predict it is going to hit us.
I think Kathy and I are relatively safe, being a few blocks from the beach in a cement home with a non-palapa roof. However, if anyone is more precariously situated feel free to call us 351-5479 or come by our house on Called Roxana.
