Residente Temporal

Has anyone received a Residente Temporal from Melaque and if so, how long did it take? My husband will apply in Canada but then the application must be completed in Mexico. Since he will be travelling down here especially to complete the application we need to know how long it will take (so we can book the return flight). When I got my old FM 3 I applied in Canada and then it took about 4 trips to Manzanillo Imigrado and about 6 weeks to complete it. Also, the nice young woman who spoke English is gone from Melaque Imigrado. The young man is very nice, but has no English. Difficult in an immigration office that was placed there to service the large Canadian/American contingent in the area. | ------------------------Re: Residente Temporal

Hi Kathleen, I applied for my visa in Canada and finished the process in Melaque in January. It took 2 weeks. Also good to note they want your photos from the photo Gedy just down the street, not instant print photos. That took a couple of days. | ------------------------Re: Residente Temporal

Thank you very much for the info. I noticed they were getting faster but 2 weeks is wonderful. | ------------------------Re: Residente Temporal

Mine was 3 stages. Apply and pay for application, return to pay for the Visa .... and then return 3 weeks later for the card. I would plan on a month and a half unless you talk to INM and they tell you different. This was January Mine was Permanente so maybe a little different? | ------------------------Re: Residente Temporal

I hope it was because it was permanente. Also, being Canadian we can start the ball rolling in Canada. Thanks for contributing to the discussion. I'm going with Ann's 2 weeks for residente temporale and keeping my fingers crossed:-) | ------------------------
