We just recieved a Phishing phone call

Rick just answered the phone from his, "favorite cousin." They don't give their name- just keep saying "oh, you know, it's your favorite cousin." Just a heads-up to not be caught off guard if you received the call. It's a scam.

Debbie, I'm guessing there is a phone book that has our names- I hope it doesn't include our street addresses.

Yes, he did not sound Mexicano. Canadian was the accent I heard. | ------------------------Re: Phone book? We just recieved a Phishing phone call

June, I remember getting Phone books delivered about 8 years ago here, with names and addresses. Do not know what happened to it. | ------------------------Re: Phone book? We just recieved a Phishing phone call

Yes, your addresses are listed in the phonebook, but I think these calls come from far away. Do you guys have caller ID? I received a call at 12:03 from the 833 area code, notorious as a source of extortion calls. I let it go to the answering machine, and no message left. Comes from the state of Tamaulipas, possibly from inside the penitentiary located there. Take care, Mike

Names and addresses are listed in the back of the PUerto Vallarta phone book. There's a separate section for La Manzanilla. When I got one of those phone calls I called the police and they said to dial 089 right away to report it so they can tell what number the call came from (if you don't have call identifier). Usually it's from someone in jail. http://sespsonora.gob.mx/denuncia-de-extorsi%C3%B3n-telef%C3%B3nica.aspx | ------------------------ |
