a real taxi with real car

This has become rediculous. I can't have my old Mexican friends and workers drive us to the airport. Even my own employees unless it is in our own car. So, after two drivers have been reported driving us or talking to us we are without a driver to go to PV. They have been told to stop. So, having vented that, does anyone know the name of a real taxi driver with a real TAXI that is dependable. ??? I know I can find them in the jardin but I would love a recommendation that will show up when one has a plane to meet in PV. I get it from the airport to here but surely we should have our own choice here. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

Well, this has been an experience. All the private drivers have been scared off and told not to drive anyone. Even Elroy in PV said NO to me for the same reason. I am told to hire a yellow cab and that is that. I have called and checked with six drivers now. My nice Mexican neighbour, who works for me, helped me drive my children to the airport because of our numbers. We needed two cars. We were pulled over leaving the arrival area of the airport and told not to do it again. This is travelling to the airport from La Manzanilla. What to do?? | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

Eduardo is federally licensed to go into any airport, so he's legal; you can't be hassled. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

If you want to get around the hassle, take a local driver to PV, then get dropped off and catch a local PV cab (Yellow) to the airport. This entire issue has occurred many times before and there is always a get around way of going to and from the airport. It entails a slight amount of additional effort but you will get what you want in the end. Years ago, there was no such thing as a cheap fare from the PV airport, so you had to walk across the street and hail a cab, this worked fine and you cut your fare in half by not catching a cab on the airport proper. If there is a will there is a way. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

Agree with Erin. From PV catch a cab to bus station (Primera Plus) in old town, cab to LM from there...plenty cheaper. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

We are not even going to the airport. NO ONE will drive us but the yellow taxi cabs. Even phoned our old driver in PV to come get us. he said can,t do it. So yellow taxi cab it is for 2000 P | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

They all want the same, I checked. We will only stay for six months next year and fly into Manzanillo. Too much hassle to PV now. Been doing this for 18 years now and yes, paradise is getting expensive but we are soooooo blessed with this village and beach. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

I'd be curious to know what law is referenced during these encounters... What's to prevent a friend from driving a friend? Do the cops simply assume the driver is being paid? Where is their proof? I take the bus, so this doesn't affect me, but somehow it just doesn't seem right. | ------------------------Re: a real taxi with real car

Good Morning. I am curious if there is anything to be read into this system ie: is it a strengthening of a modida protection situation within the taxi service to keep out all other players? | ------------------------
