RAIN REPORT

We are not weather experts like Brett, (Thank you Brett for continuing to give us info on the coming storms) but we have a trusty Home Depot rain gauge that said we had a whopping 2" in that last short intense, windy rainfall on Sept 27. On Sept 18, .1"; Sept 19, .2"; Sept 20, .1", Sept 23, .3", Sept 25, .1", Sept 26, .2". Altogether, that gives us 3" in 7 days. Maybe we will have to cut down on water usage this coming year, if we keep having poco rain. Vamos a ver! | ------------------------Re: RAIN REPORT

Thanks so much for taking over the rain reporting Mary Jo and Tom! It's really interesting info, especially for those away up north... Whenever I have some internet access, I'll try to capture your rain reports and get the data into the weather data spreadsheets when I can. See you in a few weeks! | ------------------------Re: RAIN REPORT

As I discussed maybe 8 years ago on this message board, due to the projected global warming issue that all new homes in LM should be required to have rain catchment systems in their designs to get approval. Also, the local and municipal governments should consider micro reservoirs above LM to collect rain so that in the winter the village has more water for back-up. I just returned from the big island of Hawaii on the dry side (Kona) where most homes in fact do have simple rain catchment systems to do just that. I plan to build my own at my house that was built in LM 20 years ago prior to the influx of all of the new homes. My suggestion still stands and is even more important now due to the continued shift in weather patterns around the world and in our little hamlet of LM ( el nino, global warming and overbuilding). Gracias! | ------------------------Re: RAIN REPORT

Agreement! Don't have final count of rain for season, since we may have storms in October, but so far, it is dryer than usual. Our LM is unique with houses on the hills as well as on the flat. Definitely a good rain catchment system design would be much appreciated. | ------------------------
