Up date

The CFE (power) guys really kicked ass today, they brought a couple generators in and that is how I am online. Also water is on in my area also due to a generator. Gotta say La Manz really got together and cleaned up this town in the past couple day's, it was impressive! I'm hoping to get a roof on my place in the next day or two, then they have to put the Tenaco back up on the roof so I have water and they have to dig the sand out of the septic tank so I have a bathroom. Then sometime in the next couple weeks I will start to clean up out back of the office, the only thing there now is about 4 feet of sand piled up against the office doors, that hurricane really did a number on La Manz and especially for anyone on the beach. I had waves coming in my office through broken windows! I am now experienced, and must say that those winds were awe inspiring!

Impressive to hear what they have accomplished so far. You have my sympathies for all you have facing you in the upcoming weeks, but I'm so thankful that something is left to build upon! Did your cam survive its final fall, Daniel? | ------------------------Re: Up date

So happy to see your post on here Daniel. You are amazing. At least Patricia couldn't destroy those beautiful sunsets to enjoy after a hard day of cleaning up that mess. See you in a few months. | ------------------------Re: Up date

Your posts before the storm were what kept me sane My husband Peter is in La Manz. Without your humour and good sense, I would have been giving up hope of Peter's survival and indeed the survival of the village we all love so much. Thank you! Glad to hear about the generators. Take care! | ------------------------Re: Up date

Daniel, You are amazing. We aren't residents, but after 20 years we feel like LaManz is our second home. It made me weep to see the photos and the video, not only because of the damage, but relief that no one was injured. And most of all, the spirit of the town. Would someone take some shots of the beach if they get a chance? Also, if anyone knows who is collecting donations, please post that information. We also need instructions as to what to bring to help out when we arrive in January. Bless La Manz and thank you Daniel for your vigilance. | ------------------------Re: Up date

Daniel, We can't get there until the 4th but will be available to help out with the remaining clean up. I'm real good with a shovel. | ------------------------Re: Up date

It is with a deep breath of thankfulness to read your post and to see the videos of La Manzanilla busily putting itself back together. We return on the 8th of December and will be there to help rebuild. Shann and Steve | ------------------------
