Patricia isn't a hurricane yet but could make life in La Manz pretty interesting in the next few days. This graphic from NHC should get your attention if nothing else does:

Late season storms are not unusual for the Eastern Pacific and can do some of the worst damage. A tropical storm that hangs offshore for a day or two can be much worse than hurricanes, which mostly just speed on by. Patricia will probably bring big waves, wind and maybe lots of rain.
For fellow weather-junkies, here's my favorite site for historical hurricane data: Years 2002 thru 2009 were especially active in the EPAC.
