Well, Larry F., you ain't a Shakespeare, you ain't a Keats or a Ferlinghetti, or a Leonard Cohen, but you have my vote for the La Manz poet of the times.
I'm not there yet, still four hours away, but, when I do arrive, I'm sure I will be met with challenges--hmmm, that's kind of the way it is when I'm out of my native country, out of my self-organized norm.
I'm not sure whether Mexico was created to teach me patience or whether I've come to Mexico to have her teach it to me. What I do know is that beating my head against a concrete and brick wall is . . . well, just that, and the best I can expect is a wicked headache.
It ain't fair--well, that's probably true.
It shouldn't be this way--well . . .
Why don't they . . .
Who decided that . . .
It is just as it is, and there's not much that you or I can do about it. Oh, that we could all be perfectly Zen about the inconveniences, the annoyances, the bloodyhellwhat'swrongwiththis's.
Better luck in your next lifetime . . . and me too!
In the meantime, Larry F, thank you for your light-hearted splash of realism. I enjoyed.
For the rest of us fledgling poets, well, the message board is our pen and paper.
