You do not know me June and I would appreciate that before you write in this way again you do it with a degree of respect. If you had been clear in your first email that this fundraiser is a small part of a much larger humanitarian effort perhaps I would have given more thought to the big picture. However and unfortunately I have found the people of LM very insulated from the big picture of Mexico and many clubs or foundations appear to hold their Information and efforts very tightly.
My so called high horse rides through many communities and it seems that you would like it to be about me but as I said you do not know me. I only came to this area after living in Mexico since 1980 and I have succeeded in creating a large network of donors and volunteers who depend on me for direction....but apparently you have no need for new blood so to speak. This was evidenced after I brought 45 women (and 2 men) to the foundation luncheon. If anyone had looked around they may have seen a sea of new faces. After also donating an expensive necklace and not even getting a thank you for any of it I thought it must be an oversight but, alas, I think it was something much more...
Our group has been funding orphans and old men for a long long time. We assure both generations of the basic needs, milk, soap, Christmas celebrations, a food drive, underwear and yes diapers for all. We have taken our cause to the USA and have many others who pledge support for at least a year and most of them much longer.
So you see June when I press a button I am doing it for more than myself..in fact I press it for people who are willing to step outside of their comfort zones and their gated communities because they wish to make a larger impact and they now are trusting me to give them direction here in our community.
I am sorry to say that la manzanilla doesn't fit our criteria not because of their being no need but because of the attitude of gringos like you who want to do it themselves and have no desire to extend beyond their own ideas of how it should and could be.
Good luck and good bye.
