Yikes! Hard to see how that could even happen - looks like it occurred at one of the humongous shopping malls north of here. Driving in Merida is a challenge but exhilarating in a scary sort of way.
So glad you're all getting back to some sort of normal there. It was horrible to know what you were going through as Patricia blew through and not be able to do anything about it. We never experienced anything close to that in the 10 years we lived there. I was afraid to post anything after the first 20 or so alarming predictions started coming onto the board - some pretty accurate when you look back at them. I just hope this years's weather isn't the new normal. Merida had the hottest April on record this year - one week with temps way over 100 every day. Weather Underground reported this was the hottest place on the planet for two of those days. Hard to believe but probably true. Made me long for La Manzanilla in the summer! - at least we had an ocean breeze most days. Miss you all - I love to click on the webcam, even though it makes me a little sad. Sure wish somebody would step up to the weather person job. It would be a shame to lose the continuity of all those years of record keeping.
