I'm wondering whether or not you really need to obtain citizenship. If you want to work in Mexico, you can do so with a permanent residency card. You may also be able to get permission, in some cases, to work with a temporary residency card.
In my experience, Mexico is not encouraging foreigners to get citizenship. The rules constantly change, and it is quite uncoear right now what they are. Before you spend a lot of money on lawyers, I'd encourage you to first find out what you can .... from other people, research and other free information.
