I handed out 175 individual forms for folks to tell their Hurricane Patricia stories. Nearly everyone thought it was a good idea. Officially, I received 5 stories back, one of 5 pages, and another, of two words. The idea didn't really fly.
But, I took all the stories from word of mouth, slept on 'em for awhile, and have condensed 35 stories into one poem, "For A Few Hours We Were All The Same." Pedro's line.
I will be reading this poem on Thursday, January 14th at Casa Luz, sometime between 5 and 7 p.m.
Jeanne Crosby and Julie Catton Amezcua will also be reading.
