Is the town ready for tourists?
Posted by Linda Sonna on October 28, 2015, 1:44 pm
I'm trying to figure out what to do about the bungalow I rented for the month of November. Supposedly it's OK, but it's hard to imagine that the town is ready for tourists. I don't even know if the restaurants are open, or even the road from Guadalajara. What do people think? Is the town in shape for beach vacationers? | ------------------------Re: Is the town ready for tourists?

Is the Town Ready for You? (A song) Roll up your sleeves sweet Linda Sonna You can be part of the solution (and you are) Or part of a problem. It all depends on who you are... Roll up your sleeves sweet Linda Sonna It depends on what kind of a holiday you seek If you vacation with Patricia Hurricane Expect pot-luck....The roads are open Roll up your sleeves sweet Linda Sonna The natives are working as fast as they can As people do who love their land. Roll up your sleeves sweet Linda Sonna I say keep your rental, someone is depending on you And note what the aftermath of 200 mph winds effect Roll up your sleeves sweet Linda Sonna You are expected, but you'll be finding out by whom and why It all depends on who you are.....

So I'm guessing that the answer is "no" - the town needs relief workersand isn't ready for tourists at present. | ------------------------Re: Is the town ready for tourists?

Dear La Manzanilla, (a song) Post Hurricane A tourist is likely to see something new We have a new disaster designation There are handsome CFE men in big white trucks Restoring E L E C T R I C I T Y Or if that's not a thrill, the military should in camouflage gear Riding with guns at the ready or helicopters buzzing near And our Crocodile are shy, except when they lunge Or you might see them fishing at sea And that is when everyone swims to shore As faster is better...you might agree Or go on the tour, which restaurants are still there? A sad thing indeed as we are hungry..... And the poor trees have taken the brunt of the weather They had no protection from Hurricane Patricia 200 mph is a fast pace, the leaves and the branches are gone All over the streets and houses a sound of sweep & machete If that's not enough excitement tourist You'll just have to make your own fun.....

When first hurricane Iselle hit our village of Pahoa in Hawaii last year and then was followed by the lava flow coming towards us visitors at first were not what was needed. However since our economy is supported by visitors and many businesses had closed after the disaters eventually visitors were wanted. Timing is everything and of course who you are. After many years of wanting to visit your area we cancelled our flight last Friday but are now flying in to PV tomorrow. I will watch what's going on in your village and if you need a good chiropractor for a few days let me know. It's soooo easy to vacation in a cute funky Mexican town and reap all the rewards that brings...in the good times! Let's all help out in the best way possible and KEEP OUR VACATION PLANS and support the community as it rebuilds. See you on the beach!! | ------------------------Re: Is the town ready for tourists?

La Manzanilla is a very industrious town. Being there now, or in another week, would give you the opportunity to see Mexican culture at it's best. Tourism this winter will be important to help recovery. | ------------------------ |
