What a pretty restaurant. What kind of food? Is the owner Mexican? | ------------------------Re: Opening

Designed by Richard Rowley (aka Apache). His family will be running it so yes on Mexican owners. As far as I know they have yet to produce a menu. I had some appetizers when doing the photo shoot, damn tasty they were! It will take them a bit to get things running smoothly but go check it out. | ------------------------Re: Opening

Well, if Nena is cooking it will be a treat! | ------------------------Re: Opening

I should have recognized the columns as Richard's work, quite a talent. However, if the new restaurant is "Aztec", why is the Olmec style head greeting you at the entry? Just curious. Buen suerte. Rojo | ------------------------Re: Opening

Wow! Aztec may be the multi-talented Apache's finest work of art yet. (He even hand crafted all the stone deco's on the walls.) The adjectives stunning, exquisite and perfect to the last detail definitely apply. And Aztec is truly a family affair. Son Gerardo serves cold cervezas and blow-your-mind margaritas behind the bar. Wife Nena is in the kitchen creating tasty botanas drizzled with her outstanding family-recipe mole. And, of course, affable host Richard makes sure you're comfortable and having a good time. Daniel best described the just-opened Aztec as "a bar with appetizers," so don't visit with a big appetite ... yet. (A menu is in the works.) But do visit! If you don't have transportation, the experience of Aztec is well worth cab fare. That's my story and I'm sticking to it! | ------------------------
