knowing that the airport is not a good place to exchange money, i was wondering if anyone has maybe exchanged a small amount of us $$ at the airport and at the bank in melaque and what those recent rates were. was looking to compare to what i just received here back in the states. thanks and hope everyone is having a great holiday season. | ------------------------Re: exchange rates

Your daily limit on an ATM is entirely up to you and the financial firm that issued your ATM card, essentially, its your money so the limit should be whatever you want it to be. Banamex takes 1%, you will have to check with your card holder on their charges, if any. | ------------------------Re: exchange rates

ON average I would say foreign transaction fees are 3-4%. Personally I am going to open up a Santander savings account which will link to my B of A card here at the atm here in town. Online banking is great due to the fact you can see what you are paying for fees normally the same day of withdrawl. | ------------------------Re: exchange rates

Cash is very easy to change at Banamex. When you go in, take a ticket on the left of the machine. Just take your passport and have your street address. Many times it's quicker than the ATM line-up. | ------------------------ |
