Dear friends of Cisco’s Amigos,
As many of you know Rusty and I would do almost anything to be in La Manzanilla this season organizing a great Cisco’s Amigos 12th annual spay and neuter clinic.
My hat goes off to Norma, Lisa, Jeanne and Lauren for thinking of putting together a spay and neuter clinic that would help all the animals of the community. It is a daunting undertaking and without the support of the government(which Cisco’s has never been able to depend on) the cost is huge.
Cisco’s has benefited greatly by local support, I thank you, and support from a nurse in Alaska who for the past 6 years has sent supplies, which we drive down, that probably would cost Cisco’s $1,000’s of dollars /clinic. These supplies help Cisco’s provide a safe, sterile environment that is needed to do a clinic “right”. This is the way I was taught by Susan Monger, DVM of the HSUS and her dedicated volunteer veterinarians from the US that helped Cisco’s get started. It is the only way Cisco’s Amigos would even run a clinic.
I am thrilled that the “committee’s ” efforts are going in the direction of supporting the local veterinarians, especially Rocio. They all need our support and I know they will appreciate it.
Please support the fundraiser at Figaro’s. Pino and Simone & Mike have always been great supporters of Cisco’s . It means so much needed help to all of the animals of La Manzanilla.
Rusty sends his best to all. He’s fighting this battle the best he can. He has 11 more weeks of intense ChemoTherapy and perhaps we’ll be able to get to Northern California by mid-April. We miss everyone terribly.
Cisco’s Amigos will be back, I promise. Thank you for your support.
Julie
