Lisa, the ONLY thing that has ever worked for me, and believe me, I have been hit many times, especially as the ocean gets cooler, are antihistamines. Benadryl is a good option and sold here, but any antihistamine will work such as ones people take for seasonal allergies. None of the topical remedies have ever worked. Even then, be prepared to have some discomfort for about 5 days, but don't scratch the blisters. That only spreads the toxin. If you google Sea Lice you will have a better understanding of what's going on out there in the ocean. If I recall correctly, sea lice are the larvae of malaguas, prevalent in the Gulf of Mexico and on the west coast, they are microscopic and come in with the waves, just looking to get under the bathing suits of all the mujeres here. You are not alone but you will survive. No fun, tho. Good luck.
