Once upon a time. . . .in 2006, the Federal Government gave LaManzanilla a gift of a State-of-the-Art, brand new, shiny red Cadillac. It had power windows and brakes, leather upholstery, super duper high fi stereo radio, spoke wheels, sun roof - you get the picture. HOWEVER, somehow or other the keys were lost, the owner´s manual disappeared, possibly no mechanic was trained to fix and maintain the car and maybe NO ONE was hired to drive it! LaManzanilla did the best they could with what they had. Maybe we were forgotten, who knows? Anyway, 2016, and what do you think that car looks like? Well, don´t give up hope!!!!! Your town, municipal, state and Federal governments are all working together to bring that old car back to life! We, the people of LaManzanilla may be called upon to help out too. but, why not? We all seem to appreciate a well-run car.
If you haven´t figured it out by now, this is an allegory describing the life of the sewer system here in LaManzanilla. Not only do we have a very workable sewer system here, we: The Fed, State, Municipal and town governments, are working on solving the problems inherent in this “10 year old car” It is my dream that, with the help of all these people and the Engineers Without Borders”, our system will be a shining example (jewel), where other communities in Mexico will come to learn how to treat waste water well. And to put icing on the cake, LaManzanilla will be awarded the Blue Flag Beach. You can look that up in Google if you are interested. More facts will be reported in following sewer reports. Thank you for listening to my story!
