My wife needed a burro today so I went along to carry the shopping bags. As we walked thru the traffic jam backed up behind the Good Friday parade I was hearing the Moody Blues from my last year in high school ('67). Probably grinning ear to ear, digging the energy and crowds in town.
Sorry for you faint of heart types who run out of town before Semana Santa arrives. Spring up north can be nice but La Manz is just beginning the best season of the year. After this weeks circus, next week slows down with an older and apparently more affluent crowd of nationals. Restaurants and vendors will have their best week of the year. Hopefully enough business to offset Patricia's beating and then some. Afterwards, for a couple of months, the beach is beautiful and empty! Temps start to rise towards summer, days are clear and pleasantly warm. Town is the peaceful little Mex village which won our hearts enough to build our final home aqui.
However, Days of Future Past was the topic. The question is when do we as a community begin to discuss traffic patterns, parking, tour bus parking, access to the south end of town, vehicles on the beach, etc. . . Not too far down the trail days like today will become the norm for traffic here.
A year or two back D mentioned a road study or proposal to add access to town via the old burro trail from C200 down the ridge into the south side of town. Does anyone have more details on that story? Who in La Manz or La Huerta is concerned with, or responsible for traffic and roadways? In my opinion this may be a topic worth consideration before it becomes a problem. Rojo
