Vicki, the news is not so good most corn grown here is GMO, even though the government made some public relations BS announcement(s)last year. the best way to stay away from that stuff is to buy corn from a small local grower and especially the darker color varieties. fortunately one indigenous group, I think it was in chaipas, was successful in getting a court order to get rid of the GMO beans in their area. the problem of course is mainly in the Americas, other parts of the world either banned the crap outright or they have labeling laws, so it seems that most if not all food manufacturers are smart enough not to put GMO stuff into their products because no one would buy it. here we are not lucky enough to be allowed to know what we are eating.
