Hola. Eduardo, who has an incomplete femur, was taken to Shriners Children's Hospital of Mexico city by his mother, Angelica, and myself. On this trip he was measured for a prosthesis. He'll return later this month for the fitting. Here is a report on trip expenses for those who have contributed towards Eduardo's medical expense.
Transportation: $ 3,408.00 Food and Meds: 511.00 Housing: 150.00 Child care for sisters (4 days) 500.00 Misc: Backpack, my bungalow maintenance, cell phone calls, 908.00 _______ $ 5,477.00
It was great to finally get Eduardo to Shriners (which is a wonderful service and experience for Mexico's handicapped children) as many obstacles have kept Angelica from getting him there.
We were able to connect with shelters and other families with medical needs and appointments. This made the trip much cheaper as we expected the cost to be around $8,000 pesos. $3,200 plus will be returned to Eduardo's Caja account. And the support I felt was wonderful.
Thank you to all, of course, and to DIF of La Huerta who paid for Angelica's bus fare.
