Really it does not matter what medicine you are using for fleas and ticks THEY ARE ALL POISON!! Yes I know people feel they have no options, but studies are showing now that the ticks and fleas are becoming immune to these poisons and that is why your animal can still get ehrlichea when they are on them. The downside is that they are very hard on livers and kidneys ..even tho the manufacturers say they stay in the fatty layer...not true!! The ONLY non-toxic way is to check animals daily am and pm and remove ticks. Fleas need lots of bathing, and I read they use salt to get rid of fleas in carpets, but there is also a natural spray made of very concentrated GARLIC OIL ..that I read about that can be sprayed around yards and also on animals. I bought Dr Mercolas natural flea and tick spray which needs to be used every time you go out...it helps....but this town has so many places for the little critters to hide.. It is a big problem for all of us. I find that my dogs get fewer ticks when we are on the beach but I usually go farther down from the town area. Linda Mandala
