Perhaps it is time for us to think about launching our own fish project, to breed and distribute Sambo and/or Gambusia fish, who devour mosquito larvae. They need VERY little water to survive and multiple. They are apparently happy living wherever there is any free standing water. Effective, safe, cheap way to combat this issue here in La Manzanilla or anywhere there are mosquitos and the threat of dengue, chikungunya, or zika.
This is already being done successfully, via funding and training provided by Operation Blessing International, in Haiti, El Salvador and other parts of Latin American and Mexico.
