Carbon Footprint Calculator
http://www.carbonfootprint.com/calculator.aspx
Warning, the results are pretty brutal. I live a pretty simple life and
I need to knock 3.3 tons off to hit the world wide target!
here are my results.
Electricity - 2,634 kwh per year - Total House Footprint = 1.41 metric tons of CO2e
Flights - 0
Car - 500 miles a year. Total Car Footprint = 0.32 metric tons of CO2e
Secondary - Total Secondary Footprint = 3.63 metric tons of CO2e
My total footprint is 5.35 metric tons per year
--------
The average footprint for people in Mexico is 4.24 metric tons
The average for the industrial nations is about 11 metric tons
The average worldwide carbon footprint is about 4 metric tons
The worldwide target to combat climate change is 2 metric tons
----------
Secondary is my biggest area. I get food to go twice a day, seldom
buy clothes, don't have furniture, I only recycle Tequila bottles,
don't do recreation and have 1 car. Pretty tough to knock 3 tons
off that!
