Almost every canal, pond and lake in Florida (most man made) will have gators. Even Florida ditches can have gators. And that does not to include the 'glades and bogs which cover an enormous part of the peninsula which have countless gators. It is relatively common for gators to be seen crossing roadways or parking lots in Florida.
The incident in Orlando is very unfortunate and like La Manz where there are posted signs warning about the potential harm that can come from the reptiles, some people choose to ignore the information.
