As a residente permanente I would like to bring my household goods and tools to Mexico. I downloaded a menaje de casa form from the net. Anyone with personal experience out there with credible information? How exacting must I be in filing out this form, i.e. do I need to count the cups, spoons, forks, socks, etc? Does this list need to be in Spanish?
My experience in Mexico is, what is required is variable depending on which office and which person you are dealing with. Any idea or hints about how to pave the way? Should I expect to pay taxes on a one time personal import? Any great ideas about paqcueterias or how to get my stuff Jalisco? The quantity that I have is probably less than 1,000 lbs. U.S., and takes up a space about 6'X8'X4'h.
Thanks for reliable first hand information.

I would definitely cross there are no lines, no hassle. If you are hauling a trailer make sure you have the bill of sale and or title for it. There is a form that you can obtain from the U S consulate online. Call the 800 number and it will forward you to household goods requirements...
