Fund raiser: Nov. 22nd, in El Huachinango, on the highway before the turn to Barra de Navidad. Brenda Ramos of Villa Obregon is doing a fund raiser for an animal shelter she would like to build.
Tickets available at : - Veterinario El Granjero ( Don Beto) - Aluminium Hidalgo on the highway, corner Pedro Moreno - Papeleria Aidee (corner of square, where you can make international calls and send faxes) - Señor Froy in Barra - Veterinaria La Mascota in Barra - With Brenda herself: tel. 3151085454 - In the restaurant El Huachinango Tickets 150,- MXN with several options to choose from for the meal. Brenda said there would be a Mexican ballet presentation. Brenda has been sheltering animals for 6 years now in her private home. At present, 38 dogs, 12 cats, 2 dogs are handicapped. One of them is so disabled, that it needs a contraption to be able to move, her husband has to pick it up to put it in there. She had started to build a shelter in Jaluco, her building material got stolen.
She also needs money for the legal procedures (lawyer, fees) to turn the venture into a non-profit organization (Asociación civil ), which seems to be quite an expensive and tedious procedure.
She is very pro-active and checks with the animals once she has found a shelter for them. Once she was looking after a sick and as she thought, homeless dog, till she realized it had an owner. She talked to him and told him, he needed to take the dog to the vet, but the guy said, he had no time . So she told him, that she herself would bring the dog to the vet, but that he had to ´pick it up. And so it happened.
She and her husband are both working, the husband in the llanteria on the highway and she doing the cleaning in the paper shop. And yet they find the time to look after all those creatures in need. So please, let us all help out as well.
Those of you who are coming down from the North by car, and of course everybody already here as well, donate clothes or other things, you don’t want any more, Mexicans like to do second hand sales to raise money, that would help a lot as well.
She has a Facebook page, Brenda Ramos, with photos and videos.

I have met Brenda Ramos and her husband at Beto's, the Melaque vet. They had taken in a beagle that had been hit by a car even though they had no relationship to the dog before. Anything donated to Brenda will definitely benefit many animals and she is very devoted and selfless. Please donate or if you can help her with getting the non-profit organization going.

Thank you Norma...truer words were never spoken!
All donations are very welcome, she is working so hard, also for her own sustenance, her husband is working, too, and she takes so much time for the animals and also for checking on the prospective new homes and owners. She is very responsible.
Any clothes and other things for garage sales, or contribution for animal needs (food etc) are most welcome.
I don't know why I can't get the image of the poster on this page, I did the same thing with the dog photo and that worked.
