All types are accepted - containers, tupperware rejects, etc. Just no plastic bags!
Here are several ways to recycle your unwanted plastic:
1. Drop off at the vacant lot behind the Elementary school anytime. There is currently no container so it's a bit of a mess with loose plastic everywhere, but a large truck will be picking it up in bulk.
2. Talk to your neighbors with young children and give them your plastic to take to school. There is a contest and a big prize for the class that collects the most. They might be happy to help!
3. You may want to set up a barrel, bag or other container by your house for collecting plastic from your household or neighborhood. Tell the kids and they can check it and empty it for you.
4. Provide a barrel(s) for the school. If anyone can donate some type of large container (maybe a cracked barrel) it can be set up outside the school for easy, visible drop off.
Any funds from the sale of this bulk plastic will be used for basic maintenance at the schools, like cleaning supplies, and utility bills. The municipality does not cover these everyday expenses, and it falls to the busy moms to do fundraising. A small amount will be set aside for a pool party for the winning classroom.
We all love to recycle, so get with it!!!
Thank you!86
