I was hoping to see some photos of the wonderful event on the beach yesterday. Unfortunately, I did not have my camera with me. She lumbered up from the sea and made her slow and cautious journey across the hot sand to a spot that was seemingly acceptable to her. We watched while she flung sand from side to side, creating a sanctuary hole for her precious cargo. Head up, tail down, she strained to release her eggs. After covering the nest, with many intermittent rest periods, she began her slow but deliberate journey to the sea, from whence she came. Leaving behind a glimmer of hope for her species.
