This event will also be at Casa Luz from 7:30 to 9:30.
Each storyteller should tell a true story. They will have 5 minutes with a 30 second grace period. They will be penalized 1 point for every 15 seconds they run over the allowed 5:30 mark.
For those a bit touchy about telling a story off the cuff, you can read from any kind of notes you would like, but will be penalized 2 points from your total score.
The judging will be silent this year. We will select 5 judges from the audience. After every story, each judge will fill out a small piece of paper with a score on it from 0 to 10, like at a diving competition. Those 5 scores will then be collected and tabulated. The top and bottom scores will be thrown out. The remaining 3 scores will be adjusted for penalties.
We will have 5 prizes, the amounts dependent on the donations collected. Each of the 5 winners can donate their winnings to a charity or needy local person of their choice.
Charities that have expressed an interest in receiving funds:
The La Manzanilla Sewer Project (Mary Jo) The La Manzanilla Animal Control Project (Norma) The La Catalina Scholarship Student Art Program (Ron)
Hope to see you there!
