We have always departed from the Manzanillo (ZLO) Airport. My wife has a MX Passport and I have a Residente Permanente Card. The procedure at ZLO is to check in with the airline at there ticket counter. Then they send you to Imigration (a short walk) to fill out a form. You then return to the airline ticket counter and pick up your boarding pass.
Is the procedure the same in PV ? If so, how long a walk is to Imigration ? My wife has some mobility issues.
To my knowledge the procedure re immigration was the same at each airport up to last year; I havn't heard that it has changed. The distance from check-in counter to immigration desk is about the same in each airport. Sometimes, at ZLO, if they are not busy and the passenger has mobility issues, we have known the attendant to actually escort them to immigration.
Having read both the above posts, I would like to add that not all exits/entrances to the country are identical, we entered via Cancun several years ago and I did not have a departure slip that was stamped by immigration from ZLO, as they never stamp the little half of the exit visa, one half goes to the airline and the other is to be retained for re=entry), long story short, they had a fit over that and almost disallowed me entry (fortunately there was a stamp on my passport).
The point being, nothing is the same and they always don't abide by the same rules. I am not sure what I am trying to say but if it does not feel right, ask questions and make sure you have the paperwork correct. And yes, I did have the same perminate visa.
