During the days of 23 24 y 25 of December there will be an expostion and sale of Huichol arts and crafts, cleansings, healings, dances and ceremonies from two distinct Huichol Ceremonial Centers in the Huichol Nation.
The Huichol (Wixarica) are an ancient indigenous people who live in the Sierra Madre of Northern Mexico. Over millennia they have managed to keep their culture intact.
Here is the schedule:
Saturday Dec. 23
9 to 10AM: Lighting of Grandfather Fire
11AM to 3PM: Children's Drum and Rattle Ceremony.
5 to 6PM: Dance of the Deer.
Sunday Dec. 24.
11AM: Departure of the Pilgrims for Wiricuta
3:30PM: Arrival of the Pilgrims to Wiricuta and the Ceremonial Center. Time for community visiting.
Monday Dec. 25.
8 to 11AM: Delivery of Offerings to the Ancestral Caves
2 to 3PM: Drinking for the Sacred Tejuino
4 to 5PM: Closing and Farewell to Grandfather Fire 661
