The Lagoon was so full that...... I chose not to drive through to the restaurant. The little ticket office was almost under water They used a tractor to open up a channel Pretty full by Quinta Valentina Just a trickle now but in a couple hours it will be a wide river flowing strong.

Thanks for the photos, Daniel. That must have been quite the rainfall! After last winter we fair weather visitors can identify a bit better. How are the roads from the hills to the shore? I think I have an idea. I don't see any sewers bubbling up. Is there a difference in the sewer water escaping into the streets. Vicki | ------------------------Re: La Laguna

The rain we had was close to a perfect rain. Not so hard that it all ran off (soaked into the water table) And not so much that it destroyed the roads. If the sewer was bubbling up you wouldn't be able to see it as it is currently under about 9 inches of Lagoon water. | ------------------------Re: La Laguna

Thanks, Daniel. Sounds like a nice gentle rain. Reminds me of a Ray Bradbury short story title "There will Come Soft Rains". However the theme of that story was far from soft or about rain. It's based on a Sara Teasdale poem which was more about nature. I digress. Vicki | ------------------------Sewer Bubbling

Although you could not see the manhole bubbling yesterday, you knew that it was by the tell tale smell, which I'm used to from past summers'. Perhaps not as pungent this year though. | ------------------------La Laguna mas grande

Usually once it gets started it goes like gangbusters, this time it didn't happen and the Lagoon is even more full today than yesterday! | ------------------------Re: La Laguna mas grande

Hope this mess has dissipated. Anyone know how Boca de Iguanas came through this flood? | ------------------------Re: La Laguna mas grande

Nope, still the same but the lagoon has stopped rising. Problem is that the level of the sand was really high, which is why they had to dig out so much to "open" the Lagoon. Look at the beach bar, it is more like a foot stool due to the high level of the sand. Still, a wave came in about 10 minutes ago that cleared everything off the bar! Such an exciting life we lead here, ya just never know

Sounds like you faired the storms well. That last picture makes me homesick. Hopefully the sun is still giving you a show every evening. Can't wait be there. Thanks for posting these pictures. Jan | ------------------------It is open

I don't even have to get out of my office chair to know that the Lagoon is open, I can smell the brackish water. | ------------------------Update

I checked yesterday the lagoon has drained and it is down to a trickle, which should be blocked up by the sand anytime now. The ocean has cleared up nicely. There is no fountain at the end of the street by the crocs, nor is there anywhere in town. I guess the ground water didn't get high enough to leak into the sewer this year or they have the pumps running. | ------------------------Re: Update

Is the road open across the end of the lagoon to Fiesta Mexicana? | ------------------------ |
