Last night at the first gathering of students taking part in the La Catalina Foundation after-school Teen Artist program, the young artists explored watercolor. They learned color application and color theory ... primary colors (yellow, blue& red), mixing to make the secondary colors (green, orange ,purple), darks, lights, neutrals, blacks and grays. Inspired by master artist Vasily Kandinsky, they put theory into practice by creating stunning art pieces These were saved in personalized portfolios. I love working with these talented young artists! Thank you to La Catalina Foundation, Maria Chavarin (translator), Ron Stock (co-ordinator), and Rennie Holley (portfolios), and Art Walk donations (supplies). There will be a showing of teen art in January at Art Walk and in the spring at " Galleria La Manzanilla".
