Re: those bags again!
If all the recyclables are taken to the recycling place...and there is a pail (with a lid) for all the food waste..which can be saved for a few days and taken to anywhere there are chickens (they will eat it all) then there should not be much slop at all in the garbage...probably just glass and the odd plastic that cannot be recycled at this point. The guys in the truck come around and buy all metal, aluminium, and cans so save a bag for them (I just give it to them when they pass,,,or give it to some of the people who are always checking the garbage cans to find these items so they can sell them Also if any container that has food in it...even butter wrappers etc. is rinsed clean before going in the garbage you will never have a problem with dogs dumping the pail. Using these principles my garbage is never dumped over (even tho my neighbors is all over the street every single morning) and I have very very little in my pail when those wonderful men come to collect it. there is always more one can do to lessen the garbage....I am so glad everyone is talking about this and giving suggestions. Thanks everyone. Linda Mandala
