Hey Daniel, We've been tracking it on NOAA all week...as of 5AM today, it was shown as a disturbance with 90% chance of Cyclone Formation in the next 48 hrs. Satellite images on Wundermap on wunderground.com look way too ominous to ignore. Judy H.

Thanks Judy and others for the links. Quoting the NHC
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...low...10 percent.
I still don't get what this weather event was doing on Aljazeera nor do I understand why all the attention is being given to it. Those are some very low odds of it becoming anything of note.

Daniel, the low pressure area that is creating some interest is shown on the NOAA as a red blob now off the coast of Chaipas/Guatemala and when you click on it, you see the 90% chance of tropical storm formation in the next 48 hours. The yellow circle to the west of this one is of no concern and does say it has only a 10% chance.

Another tropical storm that passes offshore like the last one would not be a bad thing. We could use the rain. And it would help to cool things.

It's a tropical depression now (unnamed), and is predicted to become a tropical storm tonight, and to pass very close by us by Wednesday morning (as a tropical storm).

Soon be named Tropical Storm Willa, and in time Hurricane Willa, is projected to be further to the west (than Vicente) as it passes La Manzanilla. Biggest impact of Willa is projected to be Cabo, Puerto Vallarta etc. Willa will likely increase wave action for La Manzanilla. Meanwhile, we'll be getting wave action, rain, and winds from TS Vicente.
Batten down the hatches by Tuesday, me thinks! And perhaps sooner.

So it looks like Wilma will hit Nayarit as a hurricane Tuesday or Wednesday. Vincent will head right at us but probably as a tropical depression. Could still bring rain maybe a lot
