Robbery
Posted by Mary Jo and Tom on October 21, 2018, 9:05 am
We woke at 5 am in our bedroom, startling a slim, tall man (I'm pretty sure) wearing a headlamp, (we could not see his face) who was rifling through our stuff. He did get my purse with debit cards. Also, THIS ONE NIGHT we decided to leave the car windows down, because it was wet from the rain. He found copies of our car papers in the glove compartment of our car. Just to let everyone know to lock up and get a guard dog. | -----------------Re: Robbery

That is terrible! It will certainly be a pain in the neck to deal with what he stole. I hope he didn't steal your house and car keys. Thank goodness you were not injured!!! | -----------------Re: Robbery

I'm glad you're ok but that's an awful and frightening thing to have happened. You must be feeling pretty violated. | -----------------Re: Robbery

He came back!!!! We were on our way to dinner and noticed a back pack by the door that did not belong to us. We brought it in and discovered possibly 30 - 40 keys, a wire cutter pliers, a sharp knife, a computer. We didn't even hear when he came in again and rifled thru the drawers in both bedrooms and office. Then he was outside the kitchen window, on the ledge, slid open the screen and took another valuable item. The police came within 15 minutes and thought they saw him on the roof. German thought he saw a stranger fitting our body description walk down our hill. The police searched all around, took the back pack and said they would drive by all nite. We slept at the Tonala. Guess we need a better alarm system! | -----------------Re: Robbery

This is a dreadful invasion, Mary Jo, of your home, of your privacy, your personal space. I hope this is the end of it for you and think it's so important that information such as this be spread throughout the community. It makes us all more aware and careful.

that is terrible. make sure you report to the Delagados office! Just curious as why did you leave the screens open after one robbery? It is a true violation, happened to me in the states, he couldn't out run me and I rearranged his face for him. please send me a email at coyotepasscafe@msn.com as I have some ideas to share privately with you... | -----------------Re: Robbery

For what it is worth, we use both of these at our home and LOVE them. A cheap & effective way to hear people before they come in...even if they are invited

I just received word that my house, just up the road from Tom and Mary Jo, has also been broken into. I will not return to La Manzanilla until after the 15th of November so am not sure of how much damage was caused. I had nothing of value in the house except furniture. Hope we catch the coward. | -----------------simple Security device

An easy way to thwart break ins are motion detectors that sense movement in your house and set off a loud siren. | -----------------Re: simple Security device

ALBERTO PERFECTO in front of the casino will have those door and window alarms in on Monday. He will also have personal protection in the way of a small hand=held tazer for $200 pesos - no idea how much for the door and window alarms. | -----------------Re: Possibly another robbery

Just saw photos of my house above Tom and Mary Jo's. Someone cut through my steel window guard and screens and crawled in. As I said before, there was little of value inside but won't know how much damage this creep caused until I arrive. Anyway, be on the lookout for this guy. He is definitely not the same guy who broke in last year and found nothing. Completely different modus operandi. | -----------------Re: Defintiely another robbery
