Mindfulness, Non duality
Posted by Eva on December 24, 2018, 5:01 pm
Hi, I’ll be in LM for 2 months starting Jan. 8th. I have been meditating for over 20 years in both the non-dual and mindfulness traditions. Are there other meditators interested in getting together to meditate, listen to on line dharma talks, and have discussions? Regards, Eva | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Hi Eva, please come by Casa Luz when you get here. We are at Boca del Rio #75. I would love to connect with you regarding your interests. We already host two meditations per week and have other events that you might want to participate in. Looking forward to meeting you and seeing what we can co-create! Hi. I'm also a long time meditator. Also a teacher of Transcendental meditation. But have explored many modalities over the last 40 years. I have sat with Nansee's circle. I think they meet Thursday at 8AM and Sunday at 9. I would also be willing to offer my home if needed. Elizabeth | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Hi Elizabeth, Thank you for offering your home. That's very kind of you. I also teach meditation, mainly mindfulness. In in the sessions we also discuss topics that help us live more consciously. At the moment we are exploring relationships. And like you, I have explored many modalities and teachers over the past few decades. We'll have to compare notes. I look forward to meeting you and all the others who are interested in being part of this group. Regards, Eva | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Traci, It's wonderful that you want to be part of such a group. I have no problem with begnners so long as the interest is there and it sounds like you have that. I'll be in touch once I'm down. Eva | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Hi Everyone, I would like to send an e-mail to all of you who are interested in this group. So far I have the e-mail address of Gail, Nansee, and Heather. Could the rest of you who are interested please send me your e-mail so we can communicate by e-mail. My suggestion would be to have an initial meeting one afternoon shortly after I arrive (I arrive Jan. 8th) and discuss what we would like to do. Several of you have kindly offered your place. My recommendation would be to meet either Friday Jan. 11th at 2 p.m. or Saturday Jan. 12th at 2 p.m. Please let me know by e-mail your preferred day and if your place is available to meet then. Please think about the following types of questions before our meeting. How often should we meet, when and for how long? Should we take turns leading or should those interested rotate leadership? Do we want to discuss wisdom teaching as well as meditate when we get together? Should we meditate in silence or have it guided? Should we try different meditations weekly? Etc.... In Toronto I run a 2 hour mindfulness meditation group where I teach and lead various meditations and we have also have discussions of topics of interest. Right now the topic is on relationships (triggers, mirroring, boundaries, resolving conflict in couples relationships, etc). I also serve tea and snacks. That helps build community. I am also part of a non-dual meditation group where we meditate, listen to non-dual teachers and discuss the teachings (and eat). So there are many possibilities and we can experiment to find out what works for our group. | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Hi, Our first gathering will be at Casa Luz on Saturday Jan. 12th at 2 p.m. upstairs. Thanks Nansee for hosting our first gathering. At that session, we can meditate and discuss the topics I posted on Jan. 3rd plus anything else that interests you. My hope is that we can figure out a structure (or have a varied structure) for our future sessions. Looking forward to seeing you. If you are able to come, you can post it here or let me know by e-mail. My e-mail address is Eva.ticktin@gmail.com 😄 Eva | -----------------Re: Mindfulness, Non duality

Just a reminder that we are meeting upstairs at Casa Luz tomorrow at 2 p.m. We will have a short meditation and then discuss what we would like to do in this group. As you know Casa Luz already has a silent 45 minute meditation twice a week, so this one will have a different format, created by the group and their preferences.. Those of you who are meditators know there are lots of options. Here are some things we can consider: a) silent and/or guided meditation (if guided, by us or an on line teacher or both) b) type of meditation and for how long c) teaching of meditations? Which? Some of us are teachers d) leadership- shared? e) wisdom teachings included with discussion? f) procedural matters such as when to meet, how often, and for how long g) include inquiry? h) watch non-dual teachers on line such as Mooji, Rupert Spira i) a set structure or a varied structure depending on the leader that week And anything else you can think of. Looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow. ❤️ Eva
