La Primaria Read Aloud Program (RLP rural literacy program & LCEF la catalina educational foundation): This year we are working to increase our Read Aloud Program in local primary school. We are organizing 6 art supply & book bags, one per grade level,. Typical number of students 5 per session = 30 each of items such as scissors, rulers, (see complete list below). It is unfortunate that our major supporter has not been able to help as expected and we are hoping for the following donations: Packs of colored pencils Packs of crayons Children's scissors Rulers Glue sticks / Elmer's type glue construction paper copy paper lined 3 hole paper. ANYTHING else that you believe important for good art! Markers would be fine, but I find they dry up quickly in this climate. sue.oriley@gmail.com Drop me a note if you: 1. are able to help out. Anyone in town with supplies to donate, I would happily come to pick up and/or items can be dropped off Calle Perula, behind Palapa Joe's, on corner at first left, large black gate, white building (Don Raul y Maria's home) 2. You'd join out team of Readers!!! | -----------------Re: school supplies, help!

Can I buy these locally or need a run to Melaque? And can you use readers who don’t speak Spanish yet? ☺️ | -----------------Re: school supplies, help!

What is not available locally? I can bring when we come in January but would prefer to purchase when we get to LM. | -----------------Re: school supplies, help!

Thanks so much Traci & Holly: I honestly do not know what is and isn't available here in town. I would assume all could be found between here, Melaque & Manzanillo. This week, I plan on visiting local shops and should have more specifics soon. Reading Volunteer: Yes, Yes, the more volunteers that we have as readers in primaria, the better. I'll be putting out a request for volunteers soon. Traci if you are in town, we could meet for cup of coffee and talk about volunteering. Buenos Dias, Thank you, children's scissors would be helpful, hoping to have 5 pair in each 6 bags (30), & 3 pair of adult scissors, packages of colored pencils, pencil sharpeners. Any of these would be put to great use! Hasta en enero, Sue | -----------------
